Alone?

July 2, 2024

It was my gift and privilege to read a story about a gal who was alone and decided she was done crying and moping about it.

She took a deep breath; got out of her own way; took a long shower; plucked her eyebrows (guys, a good sign) and put on her most fun jeans and top. She then called her friend and asked if they still needed help at the food pantry that morning. They did and she went, eyes wide open, to hand out food to people who needed to ask for help and did.

Lesson learned? Maybe, but lesson begun is also powerful. No more sitting alone with all of her talents, judgments and criticizing a world that she alone created. She is now a full time every other Saturday pantry helper…and so proud of herself. I am proud of her too…tears of hope and joy for her courage to get out of her own way and contribute…eyes wide open.
