Business has had me doing lots of driving in the last several months. Most of it has been enjoyable. Good people. Interesting sites. Great business connections and performance successes with teams and individuals. Oh yes, and the heat. Not one of my favorites. Hot Humid Nasty Triple Digit Index Heat.

This week I was travelling south to my home. On this particular road, one of my favorites in the back country of KY and TN, there are a series of 4 ways stops on really pretty major roads. It is unique and during lots of traffic, people get impatient. Today one of those people came inches from a head on with me. He shook his finger at me like I was naughty, and he was not paying attention to whose “turn” it was to move forward.

This was unsettling and scary. A few miles down the road I stopped at an Exxon, bought a nice cold chocolate milk and sat in my car being oh so very grateful for the miss, even though it was such a “too near” miss. I hope you are having many many moments for gratitude and no near misses…safe and highly grateful.
