Many of us make up stories about when and how we could be – should be communicating with others. Wrong!! The rules about communicating have not changed. Respond in a timely way based on the priority of the communications needed.

Texting makes everything feel like our communication is supposed to be immediate. Not so. Texting is a faster and simpler way of communicating for information; timing; context and process. Anything that requires extensive details is not text communication gold. Email your designs; project details; overall information of complex and detailed content. Personal links? You can text those all day long. Professional links, email them.

Scrolling through your phone to find project information is not a good system of communication. I know, texting is easy, fast, but many times incomplete. Find a good place for your project/team/client information that is easy to categorize and access. Being able to find information when you need it and being able to share it is good communication.
